  • Fully Automated Solution
  • Maximum Precision
  • Flexible Feeding Systems

Challenge

The assembly involves handling extremely small and delicate components, such as 1 x 0.6 mm precision parts, as well as processing materials like wires and tubes with minimal diameters but considerable lengths. These materials—such as Ø 0.2 mm wires—must be precisely fed, cut to length, handled, and assembled with high accuracy.

Manual processing of such components leads to high scrap rates due to handling difficulties and assembly errors. To ensure process reliability and maintain high quality, every step must be controlled and monitored.

Developing a Solution

To address these challenges, we implement a fully automated assembly system utilizing advanced robotics, flexible feeding systems, and laser-based cutting technologies for wire processing. Our solution ensures precise wire
feeding and laser cutting for Ø 0.2 mm wires, guaranteeing exact dimensions and optimal assembly performance.

In addition, we feed, handle, and assemble further miniaturized components through highly controlled joining processes, where force-displacement monitoring ensures precise assembly quality. The final product consists of a wide range of individual components made from various materials, including plastics and metals, which require specialized handling and assembly techniques.

Process Overview

  1. Laser Cutting – highly precise, burr-free separation, ensuring exact wire lengths and high repeatability
  2. Wire Feeding – Automated micro wire feeding (Ø 0.2 - 0.4 mm) and threading into small components
  3. Robot & Vision – Flexible feeding process and separation of sheats using an anyfeeder and a vision-guided picking system
  4. Precise Joining Process – Advanced robotic handling and micro-assembly technologies ensure precise positioning
