Challenge
Radar sensor production introduces specific challenges due to the interaction of highfrequency electronics, antenna structures, and radome materials. Even minimal deviations in assembly can affect signal performance, requiring highly controlled processes.
In addition, end-of-line testing must reliably validate radar functionality under controlled conditions, while future production environments demand efficiency, short cycle times, and full traceability.
Developing a Solution
Building on proven expertise from LiDAR production, the HAHN Automation Group is developing production concepts tailored to the requirements of radar technology. Existing know-how in precision assembly, calibration processes, and data integration is being transferred and extended to address highfrequency applications.
A strong focus lies on the controlled assembly of antenna and radome components, as well as on the development of end-of-line testing concepts in close collaboration with customers. By jointly defining test strategies and integrating target simulation approaches, customized solutions can be created to ensure reliable performance validation. These approaches are designed to support scalable, future-ready production systems.
