- Strategic focus on three growth markets: Life Sciences, Mobility, and Transformation Technologies
- Establishment of strong, self-managed regions in Europe, North America, and APAC, each with full profit-and-loss responsibility and local decision-making authority
- Consolidation of regional site networks: planned closure of the Diepenau location; ongoing review of the Engen location; Rheinböllen site to be strengthened as the central location of HAHN Automation Group
Rheinböllen, June 26, 2026 – HAHN Automation Group, one of the leading providers of complex automation solutions, is fundamentally aligning its organizational structure for future growth. At the center of this transformation are the expansion of HAHN’s three strategic markets, the establishment of strong regional organizations with local accountability, and the redesign of its operational footprint to support long-term competitiveness and sustainable growth.
“Automation is one of the key drivers of industrial value creation across industries. Through this transformation, we are moving closer to our customers - with clearly defined markets and strong regional organizations built on more than 30 years of engineering excellence. We have made the necessary decisions, and we have the support required to implement them,” said Frank Konrad, Managing Director of HAHN Automation Group.
Life Sciences, Mobility, and Transformation Technologies: Three Markets with Strong Growth Potential
Going forward, the HAHN Automation Group will focus its market positioning on three growth areas: Life Sciences as its core market - ranging from medtech and diagnostics to pharmaceuticals - supplemented by Mobility and Transformation Technologies, including automotive, data centers, energy infrastructure, and aerospace. These markets offer stable demand, potential for recurring business, and stability through a diversified presence across industries.
Regional Accountability as a Core Principle: Europe, North America, and APAC Positioned for Success
A central element of the transformation is the creation of strong, self-managed regional organizations in Europe, North America, and APAC. Each region will operate with full profit-and-loss responsibility and local decision-making authority, supported by regionally anchored teams that work closer to customers, make decisions faster, and are better positioned to capture local market opportunities.
This model creates shorter decision paths, clear accountability, and a broader service offering that extends well beyond the delivery of new automation systems - from early-stage consulting and commissioning to maintenance, retrofits, and comprehensive lifecycle support.
Operational Footprint Optimized – Rheinböllen at the Center of the European Organization
The transformation also includes a targeted redesign of HAHN Automation Group’s global operational footprint. Jörn Trierweiler, member of the management team of the HAHN Automation Group: “Developments in the automotive market in particular have created significant challenges for HAHN. We now have the opportunity to reposition ourselves, broaden our market focus, and create a more stable foundation for the future. This required a comprehensive review of our organizational footprint. The result is clear: we can only move forward successfully with a focused operational network. This includes the consolidation and planned closure of selected locations, as well as the transition of our Czech operation into a new ownership structure.”
In Europe, there are plans to close the Diepenau location during the course of 2026. A review is currently underway to determine whether the Engen location should be closed given the current economic conditions and future outlook. The company takes its responsibility toward its long-standing employees very seriously and is committed to providing the best possible support to those affected by these decisions. Trierweiler added: “With a focused structure, clear accountability, and faster decision-making processes, we are well positioned to actively shape our next phase of growth.”
Rheinböllen - HAHN Automation Group’s founding location and corporate headquarters since 1992 - will be significantly strengthened as the company’s European center of excellence and as the primary hub for research and development activities.
A capacity-focused site in Croatia will complement the European network. In North America, the existing operations will be integrated into a high-performing regional organization. In APAC, Kunshan will serve as the regional hub, with plans to expand research and development capabilities over the medium term. Across all regions, ongoing projects and customer delivery commitments remain fully in place and will continue without interruption.
